USING POWERPOINT

Inserting slides

            From the Insert drop down menu choose New Slide

            Select a blank layout for your slide

            Add as many slides as you need

           

Add Text

-         Select the text box and click and drag to draw on your slide

-         Enter text

-         Edit and format text

-         Move the text box as required

 

Insert Background

- From the Format menu, choose Background….

- In the Background dialog box, in the Background Fill drop-down list    box, choose Fill Effects….

            - Click on the More Colours, Picture or Pattern tab.

            - If you select Picture, then navigate to and select from a file or clip art.

            - Click on the Insert button.

            - In the Fill Effects dialog box, click OK.    

 -In the Background dialog box, click Apply

 

Connecting the slides

With your slides complete, you will need to connect slide choices within the presentation

You can connect using shapes, action buttons, text or illustrations.                   

- With the shape highlighted, from the Slide Show menu, choose Action Settings

            - In the Action Settings dialog box, select Hyperlink to:.

- In the Hyperlink to: drop-down list, select the number slide you wish to connect to

            - In the Hyperlink To Slide dialog box, select the number slide/s

- Link the remaining slides according to your planning document

 

Action Buttons

- From the Slide Show menu, choose Action Buttons then Action Button: Back or Previous.

- Click on the slide.

- In the Action Settings dialog box, click the Hyperlink to: drop-down list box and select Slide….

- In the Hyperlink To Slide dialog box, select the slide you want the user to go back to

            - Click OK twice.

 

Viewing the slide show

-         From the Slide Show menu choose View

-         Or, click on the play button at the bottom of the window.

-         Or, click F5 on the keyboard.
