This page has been developed to give students
and parents a glimpse into the language content covered in the
classroom.
The LOTE curriculum in Japanese studies is cyclical, that is,
each year students revise work from previous years and then add
to their knowledge base. This ensures students have the opportunity
for both revision and extension.
A wide variety of topics is covered each term and
includes:
Lifestyle
Entertainment
Vocabulary
History
Eating customs
Technology
These aspects of Japanese life give students a well-rounded knowledge
of both traditional and modern Japan. Students comes to an awareness
that Japan is truly a land of contrasts. A special feature of
our program is the cultural visit to our sister school in Kobe,
Japan. This tour is offered to Year 7 students and involves a
homestay experience as well as an opportunity to practice Japanese
language skills.
