English: Debating has been the focus of work during the past 2 weeks. The lads have viewed a debate and are learning about the roles of the participants in a debate. As far as Reading is concerned the class has been revising Cooperative Reading tasks in their groups.

Using maths the boys will be finding out the answers to questions such as these. Graphing tasks and gathering information to graph has been a focus of this investigation. Units 33, 39 and 34 in Go Maths have been discussed in class. The weekly tables tests are on Fridays.

Science: ‘Fair Testing’ This has been the focus of our discussions during the past couple of weeks. Each class member has set up their own test involving the planting of tomato seeds. Daily and weekly observations will be recorded. The tests were set up with variables some of which have been controlled

SOSE: ‘Federation’ During the past weeks the class has been learning about the importance of federation to Australia. They have been looking at the arguments for and against Federation and the important people who played a role in its formation. Each member of 7 Gold has been placed in a colonial group and they have been asked to draw a map of the colony and to draw their colony’s flag.

RE: These lessons have seen the boys looking at Leadership and the responsibilities that it brings. They have also been looking at themselves and their spirituality.
